Peyote Gourd Rattle:
These instruments are used in the Native American Church peyote ceremony. The gourd shell is pressure fitted to the handle, and can be taken apart at will. It has a precisely fitted stopper to create a perfectly desired hollow sound. The tassel is made from horse hair, and can also be taken off for storage. The size 15 seed beads are inlayed for smooth feel. There are also 15 hand rolled buckskin fringes. These are glued in.
The handle is carved from Purple Heart Wood.
